The Taiwan Literature Archives (The Archives), an experimental digital project of Taiwan's literary history, was launched by National Chung Hsing University (NCHU) in Taiwan in 2014. The project sets up an online website featuring a wide spectrum of Taiwanese authors. The homepage of The Archives also provides entry portals of selected websites dedicated to Taiwanese authors constructed by other institutions. Visitors to The Archives can click on the "Digital Time Line" to gain insights on the chronological development of Taiwan literature. They can also visit individual authors' web pages to learn about their literary styles and view the online audio-visual historic materials. Each author's publication information, including Chinese publications and English translations, is available online for those interested in further reading. The project was named as 臺灣文學大典 by the renowned Taiwanese poet Yang Mu.
Dr. Kuei-fen Chiu, distinguished professor of Taiwan literature at NCHU, is currently in charge of this digital project. The Archives provides a Taiwan literature digital platform that is accessible for researchers and educators alike. It promotes the international visibility and profile of Taiwan literature among literary communities worldwide.
